Engineering Lead (Ruby on Rails)

We are hiring for an Engineering Lead/Senior Ruby Developer to join our growing organization.

Location: OneClickPolitics is headquartered in Washington, DC and this position can be remote or in-office.


As Engineering Lead/Senior Ruby Developer, you will be contributing to the development of our code base, managing and expanding our development team, and coordinating ongoing maintenance. This role involves hands-on development as well as leadership for the team’s ongoing development/maintenance of our Ruby on Rails based application. The role will be a hybrid of an Engineering Lead and Senior Ruby Developer and will be integral part of our entire organization reporting to the Board.


  • Contribute to development of our Ruby on Rails code base and core architecture initiatives
  • Lead and grow our team of software engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on Ruby on Rails development
  • Facilitate collaboration with engineering team, product managers, and designers
  • Support timely delivery of technical solutions to address business needs
  • Advocate and advance modern, agile engineering practices
  • Build a healthy, collaborative engineering culture
  • Work remotely with willingness to come into the office for important company collaboration requirements from time to time.


  • Minimum 4 years of Ruby on Rails development experience (Front/Backend)
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience managing development team
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field/equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with DevOps role and ability to manage team’s DevOps resources
  • Experience with managing infrastructure in CI/CD tools
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code methodologies such as Terraform
  • Strong background with resource, security, and cost management strategies in AWS implementations
  • Natural ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
