The ideal candidates should have in-depth technical expertise and be proficient with delivering well architected cloud foundational services in foundational technology capability areas, e.g. Networking, Identity & Access Management, Unified Communications, Logging and Monitoring, CI/CD, Data Integration and Security. They will research and evaluate alternative solutions and make recommendations for changes that would enhance the platform. They will work closely with the CTO Organization to identify and specify complex business requirements and processes that drive the platform roadmap. Additionally, they will also provide comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staff at the highest technical level.

FUNCTIONAL GROUP RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Demonstrating expert knowledge in private, public and hybrid cloud architecture, networking, workload types, migration patterns and tools.

• Hands-on experience with various enterprise technology services, as well as software development, compliance and security, and IT operations disciplines.

• Deep understanding of cloud architecture, design patterns, cloud operations and cloud cost models with hands-on ability to implement best practices or suggest improvements.

• Advocate and define cloud architecture vision from a strategic perspective, including private and public cloud platforms, tools, and system

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Convert business and technical requirements into well documented architecture and design that will guide the final implementation and product.

• Ensure the design and implementation adherence to JPMC standards, controls, policies and procedures.

• Perform POC with engineering team to ensure that the right technologies are being built and meet requirements.

• Work with other members of the team, including DevOps engineers and developers to implement efficient end-to-end provisioning of automation solutions that integrate shared technology platforms with application workloads in cloud.

• Create processes and/or tools that enhance operational workflow and provide positive customer impact.

• Develop a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns, based on the JPMC technology platform and application portfolio, as a basis for deploying services to the cloud.

• Define optimal design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery for technology platforms and applications

• Remain current on IT trends pertaining to their area of practice (e.g., Public Cloud, Agile, DevOps, Microservices).

• Act as a Subject Matter Expert for public cloud end-to-end architecture, including functional services provisioning, integration and management.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features (Networking, OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, elastic scalability)

• Ability to translate complicated business requirements into multiple solution options and explain the pros/cons of various approaches

• Demonstrate ability to back decisions with research and the "why," and articulate several options, the pros and cons for each, and a recommendation

• Maintain overall industry knowledge on latest trends, technology, etc.

• Demonstrate knowledge of DevOps tool chains and processes

• Contribute to DevOps development activities and complex development tasks

• Strong communication skills, ability to present technical ideas in business-friendly language.

• Strong Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Experience with the following:

• Experience with technology architecture

• Knowledge of all components of a technical architecture and architecture development methodology

• Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes

• Knowledge of application development methodologies

• Knowledge of Information Security and Risk management.

• Implement Public Cloud infrastructure solutions, e.g., AWS Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPC, Route 53, EC2, S3, ELB, etc.(or Google, Azure equivalents)

• Experience with IaC automation platforms, e.g., Terraform, Terraform Sentinel, AWS Cloud Formation, or similar.

• Understanding of Containerized application development specifically using Docker/Kubernetes

• Understanding of Microservices, Serverless, SOA, and/or client/server systems

• Understanding of ServiceNow CI/CMDB and service catalog integration

Basic Qualifications

• 7 + years of experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management or operations

• Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments

• Experience working in financial services industry preferred
