About the Role

The Product team is looking for our first design hire. This role will own the look, feel, and foundation of our product design. We are looking for an experienced designer to help create experiences that drive a richer experience that enables security operators to respond to potentially life threatening events with more intel and speed.

You will be involved in every stage of design work. You’ll help define early product concepts, flesh out the high-level workflow and micro-interactions of a feature, and execute on a crisp and effective visual design, You should have experience with some of the following mockup and prototyping tools: Figma, Invision, Sketch.

Must be comfortable with frequent formal and informal user research (we have our own user lab, as well as early customers).

• Design beautiful, simple, innovative, and intuitive experiences and flows, identifying the needs of our users
• Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the product and executive teams
• Give and solicit feedback from end-users in order to continually raise our bar for quality
• Partner with Product and Engineering to oversee the user experience of a product from conception until launch
• Be a leader - Design in the physical security industry is stuck in the past, our design team will lead the way to setting the stage for all product in our category for the future
• Experience with front-end programming
• Strong visual design skills and a passion for interaction design
• Experience in building and shipping applications or software
• Demonstrated experience with end-to-end product design
• 2+ years of application design experience
• 2+ years of visual design experience
• 2+ years of interaction design experience
• 2+ years of strategic product thinking and vision experience
• Ability to prototype interactive experiences
• A portfolio showcasing your work and strong digital product design skills
