Position Overview: This position will develop and continuously improve Compeer’s Development Operations (DevOps) practice by ensuring the end-to-end engineering life-cycle of software solutions under the direction of Business Technology (BT) leadership. The incumbent leads the DevOps Team in the requirements analysis, architectural vision and test automation through the user experience, extensions, operations, maintenance and end of life of the software. This includes building, refreshing, diagnosing and issue remediation of system development environments, and developing/implementing the monitoring solutions and tools in collaboration with the DevOps Infrastructure Engineer and Infrastructure Team which will automate daily operational activities as they relate to the DevOps practice. Conducts ongoing market research staying abreast of developments and technologies related to DevOps practice and tools.

Essential Functions: •Delivers quality DevOps analysis, system development planning, builds end to end “build and deployment”, “CI/CD” pipelines to ensure timely development, test and release of functional, high quality products/systems. •Works closely with developers, testers and system engineers to ensure a successful release of code to production. •Develops automation and process pipelines to enable teams to develop, manage, configure, scale and monitor applications in data centers and in cloud. •Builds and manages advanced monitoring and log analysis tools providing teams with insights into the health and performance of our solutions. •Adheres to quality and development best practices and drives development of tools for improving team efficiencies. •Constructs, maintains and tests development pipeline(s) to validate tool/feature functionality, as well as load testing of system using various test harnesses. •Defines system and service configurations, installation and support strategies of system components for implementation and maintenance support. •Identifies potential problems before they happen, investigates root causes and implement solutions to prevent future occurrences.

Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: •Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. •5+ years of experience in DevOps focused on application build and release automation. •Solid understanding of agile delivery, software development life cycle, test driven development, continuous integration and continuous delivery. •Proven implementation/deployment experience and knowledge with strong ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues ranging from system resources to application stack traces. •Solid understanding and experience working with high availability, high performance, multi-data center systems and cloud environments. •Experience with version control systems such as TFVC, GIT etc. •Experience with containers and containerization technologies. •Experience in cross-platform scripting languages and build tools (Artifactory, MS Build, Nexus, NuGet). •Experience deploying and administering continuous integration tools such as Azure DevOps. •Experience in Infrastructure and application monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, AppInsights, SolarWinds, New Relic etc. •Familiarity with deployment strategies across various environment such as Dev, QA and production. •Familiarity in at least 1 object-oriented programming language such as Java or C#. •Experience in development with scripting languages, such as PowerShell, Bash scripts, Python, Ruby, etc. •Strong process orientation and project management skills to manage multiple project streams. •Ability to work independently with minimal direction to execute/manage large projects and system planning efforts following established guidelines/procedures. •Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to educate, inform, persuade and achieve understanding and buy-in on technical and business needs across different functions, levels and stakeholders. •Valid driver’s license.
