The Apple Media Products Engineering team is one of the most exciting examples of Apple’s long-held passion for combining art and technology. These are the people who power the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books. And they do it on a massive scale, meeting Apple’s high expectations with high performance to deliver a huge variety of entertainment in over 35 languages to more than 150 countries. These engineers build secure, end-to-end solutions. They develop the custom software used to process all the creative work, the tools that providers use to deliver that media, all the server-side systems, and the APIs for many Apple services. Thanks to Apple’s unique integration of hardware, software, and services, engineers here partner to get behind a single unified vision. That vision always includes a deep commitment to strengthening Apple’s privacy policy, one of Apple’s core values. Although services are a bigger part of Apple’s business than ever before, these teams remain small, nimble, and cross-functional, offering greater exposure to the array of opportunities here. Podcasts Client Engineering is a small, focused team that builds the Podcasts experience used by millions of people across all of our platforms including iOS, macOS, Apple Watch, Apple TV, CarPlay, and HomePod. We’re based in San Francisco, and we frequently collaborate with teams including Design, Apple Music, Siri, and many others. Most of our work is in Swift and Objective-C, with a little Javascript, Ruby, and Python thrown in for good measure.

The Podcasts client team is seeking a uniquely talented software engineer with a mix of skills in development, automation, testing, integration, performance, and analytics. This role requires an engineer that is passionate about avoiding, finding, investigating, and solving problems, as well as automating tasks and processes whenever possible. It involves a combination of engineering, clear communication, and meticulous organization skills. As the most quality-focused engineer on the team, you will drive quality initiatives and collaborate closely with other engineers, QA, operations, and leadership. Responsibilities will include: - Advocating for continuous improvement, quality, and visibility during the full software development lifecycle - Investigating, categorizing, prioritizing, and communicating status of incoming issues - Maintaining a fleet of physical and virtual hardware/software configurations to aid in triage and development
