We are in the hunt for an experienced Research Consultant who is wired for change, inspired by people and their stories and is able to socialize content to business, marketing, CX/EX and design teams.
As a baseline, the ideal candidate will be responsible for:
Collaborating in the outline and execution of qualitative people research of customers, employees, users and/or audiences.
Serving as Sherpa to client teams during fieldwork.
Taking interviews to a richer level, navigating conversations beyond the “what” and into the depth, emotion and authenticity of the “why”.
Defining insights through a rigorous process of tracing challenges to their intellectual and emotional roots and making them actionable with richly defined aspirations for desired future states.
Socializing and amplifying actionable stories to multidisciplinary client teams from a variety of industries.
Building reports and documentation to enable client teams to disseminate findings and insights throughout their organization.
Key requirements include:
Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
Minimum BA/BS in a relevant field.
Experience with Apple/Mac hardware and operating system
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft 365 environment and tools
Experience planning and leading research activities, including contextual/virtual interviewing.
A savviness to the guidelines and general rules for conducting interviews in context, where people live, work and play.
Travel to diverse regions within and beyond the U.S., working alongside international partners in non-English speaking territories.
Exceptional communication, storytelling and writing skills.
Must have ability to establish rapport with a diverse population of research participants from all different walks of life, meeting them where they are and empowering them to share their story.
Comfort in a demanding consulting environment as well as ability to adapt on-the-fly to shifting project needs.
Comfort with contributing and engaging others on internal/external teams despite the ambiguity inherent to the front end of innovation.
At STORYLINE, our approach to research content generation and big picture analysis using the voice of the customer has been recognized by a number of global innovators as a series of best practices, so a flexible mindset as well as an ability to learn and adapt to certain rigors of our methods for research and analysis will be key.
Desired qualities in the ideal candidate include:
A level of comfort socializing a design mindset with multidisciplinary client teams, evangelizing negatives as opportunities to elevate experiences from good to great.
Demonstrated comfort outlining and executing quantitative research and bridging with qualitative is a plus.
Willingness to comply with data security and privacy behaviors that must be maintained within our organization (password manager, monthly training, etc.).
Extensive experience with Adobe suite of software a plus.
Extensive experience with audio, imagery and video production a plus.
