The Sanger Institute have two exciting new opportunities for Software Developers to support the integration of an informatics pipelines within our sequencing informatics function. Working closely with other team members you will either add value to DNA Pipeline’s data products, or reduce cost of producing existing data products (e.g. variant analysis). You will also aid in the development of systems to expose such data products and QC to scientist and their support teams.
Key responsibilities are:
Adapt and create tracking and QC systems (including visualisation). Help create, update and run analysis pipelines and their frameworks. Help ensure delivery and availability of products from such integrations Help ensure availability and use of QC metrics from such integrations Use “cloud” systems to provide these systems
You will be experienced in amending and running analysis pipelines and have knowledge of at least one programming language suitable for computationally intensive algorithms.
You will be comfortable working within a team environment but will also be responsible for you own workload with minimal supervision. Great interpersonal and communication skills is a must too as you will be working with customers to agree pipelines and work towards the continuous improvement of customer pipelines.
