What's the role?

We’ve always believed in continuing to push the envelope and finding new ways to help the world focus on moments that matter. To that end, Fracture’s looking for a Senior Industrial Designer to join our industrial design team and help spearhead our product R&D efforts. You’ll collaborate deeply with multiple teams to ideate new photo products that align with our vision and core beliefs, prioritize them based on resources and deadlines, and then make them a reality.

The Senior Industrial Designer will assist in spearheading Fractures product R&D efforts. Collaborating with multiple teams to design, create, ideate, existing products, new products, and accessories to add to Fractures catalog of world-class home decor products. Ensures production procedures efficiently utilize materials and personnel. evaluate products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability and ensure project completion. Tests finished product for quality purposes and recommend changes to product specifications as necessary.

Supervisory Position: No

Ideation/Education:
*Conducting consumer market research/focus groups/etc. to truly understand the needs and wants of our core demographics
*Collaborating with our marketing, creative, and manufacturing teams to identify new product opportunities that align with our vision
*Assessing the current photo decor product market and competitive landscape
*Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of new developments in relevant equipment, technology, and products in the personalized photo decor space.

R&D/Prototyping/testing:
*Investigating production processes and appropriate materials with a focus on sustainability and minimal environmental impact.
*Creating and efficiently iterating upon prototypes.
*Presenting designs, prototypes, samples, and final work to the key decision-makers for evaluation.

Production integration/manufacturing:
*Working with our manufacturing team to integrate new products into the fulfillment and production process
*Assisting with component selection, budgeting, supplier negotiations, validation & testing
*Perform other duties as assigned based on the needs of the department, business, and organization and as communicated by management.

What’s it take to be successful?
*Strong visualization skills from quick concept sketching to complete presentation sketches, i.e. 3D CAD modeling (Solidworks, Rhino, Fusion 360 or similar programs) to rendering (Keyshot, Cinema 4D or other similar programs).
*Experience testing product designs using models, prototypes, specialist computer software, and computer-aided design (CAD) technology.
*You have knowledge of manufacturing processes and previous experience working closely with engineers, delivering engineering drawings and specifying CMF (colors, materials, and finishes).
*Requires excellent verbal and written communication, business professional, interpersonal and organizational skills; including an excellent command of the English language.
*Excellent work ethic with a sense of initiative, urgency, attention to detail, organization and time management/multi-tasking skills to deliver tasks on time; comfortable in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment. Including the ability to work independently, within a team and across teams.
*Ability to present ideas and concepts with the company to all levels of internal stakeholders.
*Have a learner mindset with a mentality and a desire to constantly learn more and sharpen existing knowledge and skills for continuous professional development and growth. Stepping outside the box to learn more.

Required
*A degree in Industrial Design or a similar discipline and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience with a focus on consumer product design.
*You’ve worked at fast-paced consumer product companies who are always looking to optimize and improve their current product while also introducing new products into the marketplace
*You’ve managed multidisciplinary projects and know what it takes to lead them through deadlines and milestones from ideation all the way through to launch.
