Who We’re Looking For

As a Robotics Infrastructure Engineer at Iron Ox, you will lead development of the on-device software deployment, configuration, and observability systems which enable and support the robotics software algorithms to make our robots do their jobs. Your code will help us better support, monitor, and observe our production robot fleet, and help us ship new functionality improvements onto those robots quickly and seamlessly. You’ll also be responsible for the reliability and maintainability of the robot’s Linux operating system and the container infrastructure we use to run our ROS process graph on the device, and you’ll help set up more elaborate automated test environments for us to validate changes to that ROS graph more quickly before they land in production.

What you'll be doing:

• Linux-level device management, observability, and monitoring
• Raw sensor and data logging from robots
• Hardware-in-the-loop automated testing
• New device bring-up process for manufacturing
• Ephemeral simulation-based CI testing infrastructure

What you bring to the table:

• Experience developing Linux systems for custom hardware devices
• Experience with Docker and docker-compose
• Experience writing production code in Python and familiarity with C++
• Familiarity with ROS-driven systems and architecture, or comparable architectures
• Experience integrating testing tools for both hardware in the loop and simulation testing of robotics systems into CI/CD frameworks
• 3+ years of experience
• Excellent collaborative, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to occasionally commute to our farm in Gilroy or our manufacturing facility in Santa Clara

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience integrating and shipping products with custom embedded firmware
• Experience implementing simulation test environments for robotics systems
