We are looking for an innovative, initiative-taking Product Designer to strategize and design Teamworks’ web and mobile product solutions and product marketing materials. The Designer will work across user experience, visual design, product, and marketing.

This role is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join the team leading the digital transformation of elite athletics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product owners and developers to conceptualize and design solutions for our customers.
  • Own design strategy and execution for both the product and its marketing materials in order to create a unified customer experience.
  • Advocate for good design practices and take initiative to implement process improvements.
  • Design and create digital and printed marketing materials.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects and requests.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of product design experience at a product company or agency.
  • Experience with graphic fundamentals, typography, print and digital.
  • The ability to generate low-fidelity sketches, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups. Whimsical and Figma are our current tools of choice.
  • Experience creating prototypes to showcase interaction and end to end flow
  • A portfolio that demonstrates UX and visual design skills and showcases your approach to solving complex problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Conversant in basic development principles and experience writing HTML, CSS, and JS.
  • Experience contributing to design systems.
  • Conducting and translating research into feasible design solutions

Desired Traits:

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is analytical and strives to fully understand a problem before proposing a solution.
  • Leverages quantitative and qualitative data to inform design decisions.
  • Designs thoughtful interfaces that balance usability, technical feasibility, and aesthetics.
  • Articulates design decisions effectively to collect feedback, build stakeholder buy-in, and ensure accurate implementation.
  • Defends their work confidently but is quick to iterate based on feedback.
  • Is comfortable context-switching and supporting multiple feature squads with work at various stages in the design process.
  • Enjoys solving hard problems and embraces the complexities associated with an established B2B SaaS product.
  • Exhibits Teamworks’ core values: honesty, humility, exceptionalism, hard work, commitment, and innovation.

Our Hiring Process

Our process is comprised of the following steps:

  • Application Review: The hiring manager reviews all submissions in depth.
  • Predictive Index Assessments: If the hiring manager would like to explore your application further,, we will first send you a Behavioral Assessment and a Cognitive Assessment. These assessments help us understand whether the position is a good match for you, along with your ability to learn and solve problems.
  • Initial Screening: After that, our recruiter will schedule a brief call to get to know you and learn more about what you’re looking for in your next role.
  • Hiring Manager Interview: The hiring manager will conduct a Zoom interview to provide more detail about the position, ask and answer questions, and validate that both parties are interested in continuing the interview process.
  • Take Home Project: You’ll be assigned a take-home project to create a presentation showing how you’d take a feature to market.
  • Panel Interview: You’ll present your project, then conduct an interview about your experience, skillset, and company fit/values alignment. Remember, this isn’t just us evaluating your work, it’s a great opportunity for you to evaluate if you’d enjoy working with us.
  • Culture Interview:  Next, you’ll interview with our People team. The most successful candidates love sports, have a strong desire to be a part of a team that will push them to grow, and most importantly follow our critical NO ASSHOLES™ Rule (and having a sense of humor doesn’t hurt).
  • Job Offer: Within 48 hours of your panel interview, we’ll provide feedback and timing about this stage. If you receive an offer, we’re confident you’ll do great on our team, and the offer will include a competitive salary, equity compensation, and great benefits. If you don’t make it to this stage after your panel interview, we’ll still make a decision and let you know within 48 hours. We’ll never ghost you, and if you’re open to constructive feedback we’ll always be willing to get on a call and offer feedback on why you weren’t selected.

About Teamworks

Founded in 2006 (when the iPhone was but a glimmer in Steve Jobs’ eye), Teamworks started out as a messaging platform supporting collegiate football teams. Since then, we have raised three institutional rounds of funding totaling over $50M (other companies in our investors’ portfolios include Airbnb, Hubspot, Stripe, Carta, and Future), and our B2B SaaS product offerings have grown to solve complex operational workflows involving communications, scheduling, data collection, rules compliance, and other issues specific to elite athletics. In addition to providing the premier operations platform serving the world of elite athletics, we’ve also built or acquired the top solutions for athlete Academic success (Teamworks Academics), Name, Image, and Likeness (INFLCR), and sports performance and nutrition (Notemeal). Our product suite continues to grow, and we are the preeminent tech provider serving top-tier athletic organizations.

We’re a remote-first shop. At the start of the pandemic we had to figure out how to work as a team remotely, and we liked what we saw in terms of giving our team the flexibility they needed to manage their lives while also doing great work on our products. Our offices in Durham, NC, Birmingham, AL, and Boston, MA are now open for collaboration and optional team-building events – but we have engineers who live in Alaska, Florida, New York, and just about everywhere in between and showing up to the office is always 100% optional even for members of the team who live right down the road.
