About UPchieve UPchieve is an edtech nonprofit that provides free, 24/7 online tutoring and college counseling to low-income high school students in the U.S. Using our app, students can request and get paired with a live, volunteer tutor in under 5 minutes. Our mission is to democratize access to academic support so that all students, regardless of income, have an equal opportunity to finish high school, attend college, and achieve upward mobility. So far, we’ve matched 60,000+ on-demand tutoring requests from 15,000+ students across all 50 states. Our work has also been recognized by Forbes and TIME, and our funders include both Y Combinator and the Gates Foundation.

Who we’re looking for We’re a small team taking on the monumental challenge of democratizing access to academic support. That means we need team members who are excited by autonomy and willing to work on projects outside the scope of their job description if needed. Regardless of role, we also look for candidates who have a personal connection to our cause or a demonstrable interest in education or serving low-income populations.

About Our Team We’re a remote-first team (in non-COVID times, we also have a dog-friendly office in Brooklyn, NY) We highly value diversity of experiences and perspectives. 2/3 of the team are people of color, and many of us have personal experience growing up low-income or navigating nontraditional educational pathways We believe working full-time means 40 hours/week. Non-work stuff is important too!

About the role UPchieve is seeking a highly organized and relationship-driven individual to join the team as Partnerships Coordinator to manage our quickly-growing school and nonprofit partnerships. You will innovate on our early-stage programs and products for schools, districts, and nonprofits, and develop high-quality relationships with educators. This could be a great role for an early career educator looking to break into ed-tech and/or nonprofit work.

  • You are solution oriented and can help us identify challenges and develop solutions that make our partnerships more successful

What you’ll do…

  • Support teacher, school, nonprofit partners at every stage of their journey to ensure they are using UPchieve as effectively as possible. This will include sharing reports, regular check-ins, teacher training, and the creation and customization of implementation materials
  • Maintain a feedback loop between school and nonprofit partners and the UPchieve team with a goal of improving the UPchieve product for students and creating a brand-new solution for schools and/or districts
  • Renew existing partnerships and contribute to procuring new partnerships
  • Design and maintain an online community for teachers and school partners
  • Create and/or manage innovative programs to increase UPchieve usage among our partners such as a student fellowship

We’re looking for someone who…

  • Is an excellent relationship manager. You should be comfortable talking and presenting to anyone about UPchieve over the phone, via video call or in-person
  • Has tenacity. You will coordinate busy teacher and administrator schedules and be persistent in helping to keep UPchieve top of mind.
  • Has experience working in or with schools and/or in partnerships, customer success, or implementation
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Strong writing and presentation building skills (training slides for PD, partnership proposals, etc.)
  • (Bonus) Experience working in a Title I or under-resourced high school
